Good morning all-
This is a call to prayer! I have been up all night tossing and turning over the events that are happening in the Middle East. 21 Christians were beheaded this weekend for what they believe in. This is not a time to fear; this is a call to action from our Lord and Savior. It is time to fight with the only thing we have and that's prayer. Christians for thousands of years have been persecuted but as I sit in my nice house in the US and have freedoms to do or say what I wish, there are people in other countries losing their lives for our God. Why weren't they saved? I asked God that last night but like John the Baptist, Peter and many of the disciples they were chosen for their time.
The atrosity of what is happening is beyond my very scope. In 2015, we are watching things that happened in Jesus' time and we are being subjected to fear. And then I began to think of David, Moses, Aaron, and all the Christians that lost their lives in Egypt and I remembered; He is the King and the day of reckoning will come. It's in His power to save us and it's in His power to lift us to His kingdom. Their deaths were gruesome and these aren't the first and just like Peter, I wondered if I would deny Him if I was in the same predicament. Do you know how hard that is to even imagine? And yet, in the quiet of the night, I wondered. Why do we suffer? Because we believe in the one true God. No one is going after people that believe in Islam but everyone is attacking those that worship Jesus Christ.
So here are some of my thoughts:
I won't fear;
I will stand up for my people;
I will send out a call for the masses;
I will stand in the gap and pray for the men and women of all terrorist groups;
I will believe that Jesus Christ is Lord;
I will believe that this is our time to call upon His name;
I will write about who I love;
I will not grow weary of prayer;
I will love the un-loveable;
I will be like David and pray for relief;
I will pray that men and women can worship freely;
I will call women to unite in prayer for Christians all over the world;
I will not forget that even though we live in 2015, we are going to be persecuted;
I will call on the God of Abraham to change the hearts or move the mountains!
Be with me my sisters as I pray Psalm 91 for every Christian in every part of the world. Hear our cry Lord and deliver Your people in their greatest hour. We believe that Jesus came and will rise again. We believe that we are sinners who need a Savior and we believe that You are more powerful than those sins. We stand up for our right to believe and to ask You to turn the hearts of men who are blinded. We pray for the wives and children who have lost loved ones and we ask that You give us courage in the face of barbarism. We need You now to use the power You used against Pharaoh and bring about a change in the hearts that are apathetic. We pray for the leaders in every country that they would have courage, strength, and wisdom and that they would be united as one against an enemy they can not see. War is upon us but it isn't as physical as many would think. This war is spiritual and I call upon the warrior angels to go before Your people. We believe!
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” (Psalm 91:1-16 NIV)
In Jesus Name we Pray! Unite!
