Good morning all-
As I did yesterday, I am praying that the post for Mosul will go far and wide. I do believe that Christ can move mountains. According to yesterday's paper, provisions have been sent to the mountain to try to save thousands of people from genocide. As I was praying about the situation, I found hope that God is who He says He is. ISIS is no surprise to Jesus. He knows each one by name. So like my friend Amanda who posted yesterday, let's pray for those that are fighting behind that organization.
In the 40's the Nazi forces captured and killed many Jews. Just like today, they thought that they were right. After Jesus, the Romans took people as entertainment and fed them to the lions. The Pharisees believed they were right when they hung Jesus on a cross. We are human beings and sometimes our thought lives are just wrong. We are not to persecute anyone and yet, radical leaders can get people to hate. Hate provides an evil ring of disaster and war begins. This is the way of man. But there is a solution much larger than our eyes can see and our minds can fathom. There is a God, Holy, Mighty and worth every moment we spend praying before Him. I am looking upon Christ right now. He is majesty, beautiful and amazing. He can change the hearts of any man with one touch. Today, I am praying that our eyes will stay focused on His brilliance and that we will continue to pray to the only living God.
These wars may not stop. Hate may still grow. But God's children are His no matter where we live or what language we speak. We are one voice, with power in the Holy Spirit. It's time we took that power and really prayed for other nations, other people and for our leaders. The ISIS leader is no different than any other leader. Each one believes His way is the right way. That's the way of sin. We believe in ourselves over Jesus.
As you spend time with your families please continue to pray Psalm 91. It is my intention to pray this prayer for Israel, Hamas, ISIS and all the people suffering in Iraq. We will never get rid of radicals but we can pray for a revival of magnitude. I believe that Jesus lives in the hearts of man and if we pray those same people that don't believe will turn into believers. Paul, himself, persecuted the very people he would die preaching too. Remember that. We must not hate or fear, we must pray that our Father will swoop in on eagle's wings and change the hearts of those that hate.
My prayer today:
O, Jesus, Lord God Almighty, we bow down to You today. We ask that Your grace and mercy will be placed on every name in Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel and Palestine. We are only seeing a glimmer of the war that is penetrating the hearts of people everywhere. This is a holy war based upon a premise that war is right and that we must fight, while innocent children and women are being beaten, raped, and killed. Children are being taken for sacrifice but Your blood is true, Your spirit is real and Your power is great. Please bring Your children together to pray Psalm 91 for every nation and every person. I am praying that the men that are fighting will find You. I am asking You as a servant who loves You to impace the hearts of all people. Help us to take time out of our day and pray for other areas of the globe and to love those that don't know love. You are the only one that can change a heart. Please change those hearts today. In Jesus name we pray.
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” (Psalm 91:1-16 NIV)
This prayer was prayed during WWII. It is recorded that the men that prayed it together did not perish during battle. This is a battle, please join me in fighting through prayer for those that can not fight! We must put our full armor on and become one for a greater fight. This is our time and we must pray!
