Good morning all-
I hope you are welcoming in the New Year with friends and family. I spent most of my time with family this morning and this was the first opportunity I had to write. So in an attempt to look back, I read my very first blog dated January 1, 2012. I was scared and said so to no one in particular. I started that day with a thought and a Scripture and over time, the blog took over and prayer was introduced. That was the Holy Spirit not me for sure. Who writes their personal prayers for everyone to see? I do. So today, I hope the New Year brings you courage to step out on faith and to spread the gospel. I can tell you from experience it's exhilarating and scary all at the same time. The reward is getting to know Christ better, understanding His heart for the hopeless and reaching people that don't know Him.
I'm looking forward to the coming year to see what Scripture and message He brings to all of us that read this blog. I often go back and read my words so that I can get the full impact of what He teaches me. This has been a personal as well as a public journey and it's with His grace that I continue.
I'd like to leave you with the Scripture that was first given to me last year, Psalm 116: 12-14 NKJV, I think it's only befitting that I start where I began last year. I can't thank God enough for the wonders He has shown me this year. I pray that all of us will find Him in a greater way this year. If nothing else, we need to put Him first so that we can be faithful all our days. I pray that God will bring blessings to you.
Psalm 116: 12-14 NKJV:
What shall I render to the Lord for all His benefits toward me? I will take up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord. I will pay my vows to the Lord now in the presence of all His people.
My prayer today:
O, Lord, I come to You and ask that You will bless Your people. We need Your light today. Like the snow, we need You to cover the earth with peace and prosperity. Please take care of Your chosen as we continue to follow You this year. Help us be better at being closer to You. We are waiting for Your return but until that day, we want to run the race well. Give us eyes to see You, hearts to worship You and a strong need to seek You daily. I praise You Lord and thank You for every minute You have been in my life. My vow is to continue to look for You always. Please help all of us as we face the coming year. You are our Lord and we worship You with a passion. Light the way for others to know You all around the world by guiding them to resources and people that know You well. Come to us in dreams and make us strong in You. We desire to be in a growing relationship with our King. For today and everyday, thank You for forgiving us and giving us life! In Jesus name, AMEN
Until tomorrow...
