It's a new day and we're hear to proclaim that Jesus lives! Do you wake up every morning and think, "Wow, God, I'm still here?" I do. I'm in wonder when the new day unfolds and I'm a character in its first act. I'm definitely not a puppet but I have a part to play and if I play it well, Jesus will be glorified today.
I don't always think like this but today it's definitely on my mind. Especially, when I open the doors and its 64 degrees outside, what a difference a few weeks makes. Everything is changing from the weather to the kids going back to school. Nothing stays the same, except for Jesus and when I think about it, I smile. It reminds me of my phone call yesterday. I called a former co-worker to let him know an opportunity he was trying to get called me for a reference. He was laid off since January and still hasn't found another job. That's not the kicker though. He lost his father two weeks after I lost mine and he's only 27 years old. It was good to talk to him and to hear the promise in his voice. It was good to once again tell him that I would be praying for him and it was good to be reminded that nothing stays the same.
Right now, there are people in the world that are having the most beautiful day of their lives and their are others wishing today would be done and hoping that tomorrow will be better. Unfortunately, I've been on both sides. I would rather choose to have a beautiful day. I try to do that everyday now. Time is precious and we only have so much of it. Each moment that is given to us, we should treasure. Why? Because there is something God wants us to do with the time we have on earth and we should praise Him for it. Remember, this is not our life, but His. We are here for His glory and if He gives us rainbows to look at, days of joy and a lifetime of love then we should be on our knees, for He is a God that loves us, in the happy times and in the darkest times.
I have hope that no matter what you're facing today the hand of God is on You. I have hope that You will see Him in something that you're doing, or in your child's laugh, or maybe just in the beautiful scenery around you. Treasure today and ask Christ what He wants you to do. He is our maker and He is who we should always treasure. Our hope and our faith reside in Him. Be blessed today my sisters and know that I am praying for you. May today bring you a rainbow and a sliver of hope for tomorrow.
Proverbs 7:1 NKJV:
My son, keep my words, and treasure my commands within you.
2 Corinthians 4:7 NKJV:
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not us.
My prayer today:
O, Lord, our treasure is You. Our hope resides in You. We walk praying that we can hold onto your commandments and to love You more dearly. We come before you thanking You for the time You have given us, for the changes around us and for the company You provide us. We are Your servants, we give You everything so that we can look upon Your beauty. You are our master, our Father, our friend. Help us today to see You in all things. Please give us a heart to treasure You and to treasure those around us. There are no words to say except, Thank You for being there for us and giving us hope, when life takes it away. You are our King. We want to glorify You today with our thoughts and our tongues. Help us treasure one thing today that You treasure. Keep us on the right path and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive others. I'm praising You Jesus, Lord of Lords, King of Kings, send Your mighty power to earth and heal the land. In Jesus name, AMEN
Until tomorrow....
