July 3, 2012

Well for all of you that read this blog faithfully, I'm going to try to write daily, while on vacation with my husband and children.  It might be from my iPhone so don't mind the grammar or lack of sentence structure.  Who knows?  The only thing I do know is that our Lord lives and reigns and at the end of ourselves is always Him.

I'm about to embark on a trip to Arkansas where I will be near water.  Kansas is so dry.  I was raised on a lake in upper state New York and I always remember how wonderful it was to get up in the morning, look across the lake and see beauty.  Water is very peaceful for me and it brings back lots of wonderful memories.  My brothers and I spent hours jumping off the boat, learning how to ski (not me, I didn't like to get my face wet) and learning how to catch a fish.  They were the best of times.

I hope this week, my children and I will make the same memories.  My days are growing short for  making memories with just the four of us.  Soon, at least over the next couple of years, this journey will end and another will begin.  So, while I still have my men at home, I hope to give them the kind of memories I now cling too.

Make memories with your families today.  They do last a lifetime.  Half my family is gone but the memories are vivid in my mind.  I can still see my brother smiling, my mom feeding the ducks and my dad shining up his boat for one last ride before we go.  These memories will last me forever.  So go make memories.

Romans 8:18 NKJV:

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us.

Romans 13:10 NKJV:

Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

1 John 4:19 NKJV:

We loved Him because He first loved us.

He loves us and with Him we make memories every day.  Some good, some bad but we always make memories.  Each trial, each song, each hug will be remembered not just today but every day.  Have a great 4th.

My prayer today:

O, Lord I am so thankful for the memories.  Thank You for providing a family that loved me and I could love.  For those that didn't have that, I thank You for the memories You have given us throughout the Bible.  Memories of Your sacrifice, Your love and Your undying commitment to save the lost.  You are our hero.  A Father we can look too when life gets us down and a Father that loves us no matter how bad we let Him down.  Help my sisters in Christ to make memories with their families and friends this July 4th.  To celebrate not only independence but a deliverer.  A deliverer who came to show a world a sacrificial love.  We owe You all.  To You be the glory, the honor and the power.  Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done!  We love You Lord!  In Jesus name, AMEN
