May 3, 2012

I have had a lot of time to think over the last week.  I have driven about 1300 miles in 8 days.  It gives you time to reflect on life.  Not everyone is a thinker and that's probably really good.  Unfortunately, God made me a thinker and so it's easy for my mind to wander on many paths.

The great thing about being a thinker is God can use it to bring up issues, reveal Himself, and in some sense make you a great warrior for others.  I don't think there's a day in my life that I don't wake up with someone on my mind that I know God wants me to pray for.  It's a gift and a curse because I can't save anyone, only God can.

Christ has put on my heart over and over these last weeks that time is precious.  I have attended more funerals in the last year than I want too and I have lost people closest to me.  I think it puts it all into perspective.  Jesus knew the time and hour of His journey on this earth.  Sometimes when I lay down, I wonder what it was like to know that you were going to die and how it would happen.  It had to be hard even for Jesus.  But as we read the Bible, no time was wasted.  He began a journey that was so very powerful, filled with purpose and persevered.

I can remember a time when I was full of confusion, not knowing which way God wanted me to go and wasting precious time.  When my kids were small, I rarely made time for others because my family was my focus.  And if I have any regrets about my time, I would have taken my mother out shopping and out to lunch more.  I would have spent more time with her face to face.  Although, I have to say, she loved the phone; I yearn for the days I could just be in her presence.

Those days are gone and yet, I have many memories of the time she invested in me and my kids.  Time is precious and we can get so bogged down in every day life that we don't take the time to love those around us and those we don't know.  This blog came out of a prayer journey.  It was just me and God talking daily and like all things Holy; I began to write with a passion and purpose I had thought was lost.  But nothing is lost in Christ, not even time.  Because only He knows the time and hour of His coming and only He can help You fulfill your purpose.

I can honestly say without God; I don't think I could have made it through the loss of my brother, mother and father.  It wouldn't have been possible.  But as I prayed, He brought friends, family and those I didn't even know into my heart.  The time I have invested in them has been a blessing to my life.  He also put a young woman on my heart, who I cherish and thank God everyday that He saw fit to bless me with someone I could give my time too.  See our Father knows what we need before we do and if you think He can't change things in your life, think again.

We must be open to using our time to glorify Him.  We must get out of ourselves and serve others.  It's time to ask Jesus what our purpose is and begin to fulfill it for His glory.  Each one of us has been born with different talents.  We are of different races, nationalities and regions.  He didn't lump us all into one area of the world, we are spread out like ants so that we can fulfill the great commission.  Hold onto Jesus in this journey, no matter how steep the slope is in your life.  The mountains will come but Christ is there to knock them down.  Ask Him with all your heart, how can I help You Lord?  And then please, walk in faith and do it, the outcome is for His glory but the blessing is on You!

Leviticus 26:5 King James:

And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.

Numbers 14:14 King James:

And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that though LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that they cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.

Deuteronomy 10:8 King James:

And I stayed int he mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also, and the LORD would not destroy thee.

There are so many references to time in the Bible and all of the entries have the same theme. In our Lord's time things happen.  I believe we are being called today because it's our time to make History. We are the hands and feet of this generation and we must begin to be open to the call.  I know that sometimes it's hard to hear from God but I would ask you to pray and ask Him to reveal Himself to you.  As I prayed for Him to reveal Himself, he did and out of it came this blog.  There are times when I feel the Holy Spirit over me and it's not until I read it again that I know what I wrote.  He is real, don't question it, live it!  We are His to use and we should want to be used.  We were made for His purpose and when we use the talents and gifts He gave us, purpose arises.  I am praying for you my sisters and I am hoping that as I am obedient; you are blessed!

My prayer today:

Oh Lord, thank you for providing me with hours to think about you.  Thank you for each woman that reads this blog and that loves you more and more.  Please give us the courage to look past ourselves and into the hearts of women all over the world.  Give us Your wisdom as we pray and walk on this earth.  We don't want time to get away from us so please light our paths to Heaven and help us be the women You made us to be.  We desire to know you in the good and bad times.  You are our manna and we need it daily.  Encourage women to band together not just for causes but for the great commission.  Help us to spread your word across nations and to unite as Your bride so that we can glorify your name.  Thank You for setting a time for each one of us to fulfill Your purpose and thank You for giving us the talents and the hearts for others.  We need You more than the air we breath!  Thank you for allowing us to live in this world and for giving us a hope and future.  In Jesus name, AMEN

Until tomorrow...
