Oh how great our LORD is! I was just thinking how wonderful and mighty our God is. I am always amazed at how wonderful and mysterious He is. Through the Holy Spirit God has revealed Himself to us but do you ever wonder what it would have been like to walk the streets with him in Israel. I do.
In the last 5 years, I have lost both my parents and a brother. When you lose those that you hold dear, you wonder what Heaven is like. You picture where they are and what they are doing and although you are sad, you wish you were there.
I think that's why I love the song, "I can only Imagine." I have often thought about what it would be like to walk beside Jesus. Would I dance or fall to my knees? I think that I would fall to my knees and weep. On earth, I find God to be amazing but in his presence there are no words to descibe how I would feel. He has been father, husband and friend to me, even though I have never been able to touch Him, speak to Him or see Him. Because of His sacrifice at Calgary, we will one day be united with Him. It gives me chills just thinking about it.
John 14:1-4 NIV
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.
That place is Heaven and the only way to get there is through Jesus Christ. When I close my eyes, I can see the streets of gold but more importantly, I can see people restored to their youth, children playing and angels singing, GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST! Take a moment to reflect on what Christ has been to you and remember that one day we will be with Him!
My prayer today:
Lord in my mind I can see You and hear the angels singing. It gives me great comfort knowing that someday I will reside on the streets of gold with You. Thank you for sacrificing your earthly life so that You could prepare a place for us. I am in awe of You and all that You have done for us. GLORY BE YOUR NAME! Amen
Until tomorrow......
